Formulacer is a tool for working with ceramic recipes using lists of materials -raw materials or frits- and oxides compositions.
It provides a reformulation tool that executes an algorythm for obtaining recipes that optimize a selected value.
Reformulation calculations can be stored and redone to update them to new data.
Recipes can be printed as batch sheets.
How does FORMULACER work?
The application is an editor of formula-files that can be stored and reloaded.
Formulas can be of raw materials and/or frits, oxides % weight, or Seger.
Formulacer loads the materials, their composition, cost and physical properties values from Excel files with a defined table format.
You can have as many materials tables files as needed and choose which one to work with at any time.
In recipe-to-oxides conversion and in reformulation the application will work with the oxides list found in the analysis of the selected materials table.
Frit names can have a customized encoding that indicates which type of frit they are, according to composition, process, gloss or any other feature. This encoding is used in the reformulation tool to specify what kind of frits must take part.
Formulacer uses an oxides table, also an Excel file, with the physical properties coefficients used to approximate the properties of the oxides compositions.
